Hey! I’m artist, writer, illustrator Remie James. I like writing fantasy primarily although I write other types of literature as well including poetry. You can view some of my art work, short stories and poetry on my myspace page.
I accept many friends I don’t just look for artists and writers. I believe people that are not in those fields enjoy the various forms just as much or even more than just adding artists / writers.
My writing in most forms are free writing as they aren’t edited with the standard editing formats. Sometimes I feel that my stories sound more today or realistic without all the changes that editing brings on.
Editing guidelines were created back during when writers created pieces by authors such as William Faulkner and others. Growing up I remember having to read some of these stories and yes they are classics, however I found them a bit difficult to read and somewhat not able to compare interests to them because of the way the stories were written.
Yes, I do write fantasy and I’m not saying that it is now-a-days more easier to believe a dragon or other mythological beast does exist in any world that we as writers choose to create. J.R. R. Tolkien has been around for a while and his world that he had created included myths from Greek, Norse and his own imagination. The Lord of the Rings book (yes, I said book people have called it a trilogy, but it really was not a trilogy it was a novel but divided up for financial and other reasons) was edited and is a classic masterpiece. Had it not been edited maybe it would have read differently. There is more free writing now, mostly by younger generations. Seasoned writers the first thing they all see is that when the work needs editing, while non- writers have picked up on the story line and felt that mine in particular has been written in almost a cinematic style. I’ve also heard a few of my stories could make movies as when you’re reading them you can visualize them. Perhaps if editing guidelines become updated the stories will read more current as with free writing which many times feels more emotional and real.

I write and I like writing, and on some days I feel as if I don’t want to write but something still draws me in. I have been writing and doing my art work since I was younger and I’ve enjoyed it throughout. I hope that many people also take an interest in my work as well.
